“The danger in user-centered design is that it releases the designer of the responsibility for having a vision for the world.”

User-based feedback is easy and vision is hard. Seeing the world not as it is, but as it can be, requires more work to break through rusted orthodoxy and accepted convention. User-based design and building has its place; but that place is not in innovating the new technologies and ideas that will shape the future. Rather, its place is in perfecting and distributing them.
